Broadcom Is The New Nvidia, And That's The Problem

Summary Broadcom Inc. shares are roughly flat year-to-date, and we don't expect things to turn for the better anytime soon. AVGO stock is caught in a similar situation to Nvidia, holding 70% of the ASIC market and now needing to fend off the growing competition or lose share. This means cutting price to remain competitive or losing market share as hyperscalers increasingly multi-source custom AI ASICs, which Google has already exemplified well. Meta: Rent Out That Compute, Zuck

Summary I expected Q2 to clarify Meta Platforms, Inc.'s cloud strategy. Instead, the silence left me more disappointed with the company than before. In my view, META's $130-$145 billion of 2026 CapEx needs a concrete explanation. I want Meta renting compute, not only buying it from neoclouds. Zuckerberg said that outside buyers offered a meaningful premium for Meta's compute. I would rather take that demand than keep chasing frontier-model differentiation. CEO Mark Zuckerberg believes selling intelligence carries higher margins than selling raw compute. I think low-margin revenue today beats uncertain higher-margin revenue tomorrow. That said, I reiterate my Buy rating. Among hyperscalers, I think Meta is the best positioned to re-rate if the market starts seeing its AI infrastructure as a monetizable asset rather than CapEx burn.
