Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Daniel Hasselberg, the Co-Founder of MAG Interactive AB (publ) (STO:MAGI) recently shelled out kr550k to buy stock, at kr8.08 per share. However, it only increased their shares held by 2.1%, and it wasn't a huge purchase by absolute value, either.

MAG Interactive Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent purchase by Daniel Hasselberg is the biggest insider purchase of MAG Interactive shares that we've seen in the last year. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, at around the current price, which is kr8.40. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. The good news for MAG Interactive share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

Insider Ownership

I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. MAG Interactive insiders own 40% of the company, currently worth about kr90m based on the recent share price. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
