Cencora Executive VP & Chief Human Resources Officer Silvana Battaglia Sells 27% Of Holding
Some Cencora, Inc. (NYSE:COR) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the Executive VP & Chief Human Resources Officer, Silvana Battaglia, recently sold a substantial US$1.2m worth of stock at a price of US$297 per share. That sale reduced their total holding by 27% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Cencora
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Executive Chairman, Steven Collis, for US$12m worth of shares, at about US$244 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to take some cash off the table, even below the current price of US$294. We generally consider it a negative if insiders have been selling, especially if they did so below the current price, because it implies that they considered a lower price to be reasonable. However, while insider selling is sometimes discouraging, it's only a weak signal. This single sale was just 13% of Steven Collis's stake.
In the last year Cencora insiders didn't buy any company stock. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Does Cencora Boast High Insider Ownership?
Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Cencora insiders own 0.3% of the company, currently worth about US$185m based on the recent share price. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
So What Does This Data Suggest About Cencora Insiders?
Insiders sold Cencora shares recently, but they didn't buy any. And there weren't any purchases to give us comfort, over the last year.
