Hopeful Week For Insiders Who Bought US$1.11m Of RxSight Stock
Some of the losses seen by insiders who purchased US$1.11m worth of RxSight, Inc. (NASDAQ:RXST) shares over the past year were recovered after the stock increased by 11% over the past week. However, total losses seen by insiders are still US$873k since the time of purchase.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
RxSight Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Independent Chairman of the Board Jesse Corley bought US$1.0m worth of shares at a price of US$45.37 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than US$9.42 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock when an insider has bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price. Jesse Corley was the only individual insider to buy shares in the last twelve months.
Jesse Corley bought 25.69k shares over the last 12 months at an average price of US$43.39. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Insider Ownership

While this is a strong but not outstanding level of insider ownership, it's enough to indicate some alignment between management and smaller shareholders.
What Might The Insider Transactions At RxSight Tell Us?
