The Greenbrier Companies Inc.: Stocks, No. Options? Yes

I think the dividend is secure in spite of the fact that revenue and earnings remains in a multi-year downtrend. The cash hoard gives me some comfort. The problem, as is frequently the case, is the valuation. History demonstrates quite starkly the negative relationship between price paid and subsequent returns. Thankfully, the options market offers some decent premia. I think short puts here represent a "win-win" trade.

It operates through three segments: Manufacturing; Wheels, Repair & Parts; and Leasing & Services.
