Some have more dollars than sense, they say, so even companies that have no revenue, no profit, and a record of falling short, can easily find investors. But the reality is that when a company loses money each year, for long enough, its investors will usually take their share of those losses.

In the age of tech-stock blue-sky investing, my choice may seem old fashioned; I still prefer profitable companies like ALDA Spólka Akcyjna (WSE:ALD). While profit is not necessarily a social good, it's easy to admire a business that can consistently produce it. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

How Fast Is ALDA Spólka Akcyjna Growing?

As one of my mentors once told me, share price follows earnings per share (EPS). It's no surprise, then, that I like to invest in companies with EPS growth. We can see that in the last three years ALDA Spólka Akcyjna grew its EPS by 13% per year. That growth rate is fairly good, assuming the company can keep it up.

I like to take a look at earnings before interest and (EBIT) tax margins, as well as revenue growth, to get another take on the quality of the company's growth. On the one hand, ALDA Spólka Akcyjna's EBIT margins fell over the last year, but on the other hand, revenue grew. So it seems the future my hold further growth, especially if EBIT margins can stabilize.

Since ALDA Spólka Akcyjna is no giant, with a market capitalization of zł18m, so you should definitely check its cash and debt before getting too excited about its prospects.

Are ALDA Spólka Akcyjna Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?

Personally, I like to see high insider ownership of a company, since it suggests that it will be managed in the interests of shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that ALDA Spólka Akcyjna insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. In fact, they own 88% of the company, so they will share in the same delights and challenges experienced by the ordinary shareholders. This makes me think they will be incentivised to plan for the long term - something I like to see. Of course, ALDA Spólka Akcyjna is a very small company, with a market cap of only zł18m. That means insiders only have zł16m worth of shares, despite the large proportional holding. That's not a huge stake in absolute terms, but it should help keep insiders aligned with other shareholders.

Should You Add ALDA Spólka Akcyjna To Your Watchlist?

As I already mentioned, ALDA Spólka Akcyjna is a growing business, which is what I like to see. Just as polish makes silverware pop, the high level of insider ownership enhances my enthusiasm for this growth. That combination appeals to me, for one. So yes, I do think the stock is worth keeping an eye on. We don't want to rain on the parade too much, but we did also find 4 warning signs for ALDA Spólka Akcyjna (1 is a bit concerning!) that you need to be mindful of.
