TIS Inc. (TSE:3626) investors will be delighted, with the company turning in some strong numbers with its latest results. TIS beat earnings, with revenues hitting JP¥134b, ahead of expectations, and statutory earnings per share outperforming analyst reckonings by a solid 16%. Earnings are an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance, look at what the analysts are forecasting for next year, and see if there's been a change in sentiment towards the company. We've gathered the most recent statutory forecasts to see whether the analysts have changed their earnings models, following these results.

Taking into account the latest results, TIS' eleven analysts currently expect revenues in 2025 to be JP¥559.3b, approximately in line with the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are forecast to decrease 9.3% to JP¥193 in the same period. In the lead-up to this report, the analysts had been modelling revenues of JP¥560.0b and earnings per share (EPS) of JP¥193 in 2025. The consensus analysts don't seem to have seen anything in these results that would have changed their view on the business, given there's been no major change to their estimates.

It will come as no surprise then, to learn that the consensus price target is largely unchanged at JP¥3,590. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. There are some variant perceptions on TIS, with the most bullish analyst valuing it at JP¥4,700 and the most bearish at JP¥3,100 per share. These price targets show that analysts do have some differing views on the business, but the estimates do not vary enough to suggest to us that some are betting on wild success or utter failure.

Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. We would highlight that TIS' revenue growth is expected to slow, with the forecast 1.4% annualised growth rate until the end of 2025 being well below the historical 5.4% p.a. growth over the last five years. Compare this against other companies (with analyst forecasts) in the industry, which are in aggregate expected to see revenue growth of 4.8% annually. Factoring in the forecast slowdown in growth, it seems obvious that TIS is also expected to grow slower than other industry participants.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away is that there's been no major change in sentiment, with the analysts reconfirming that the business is performing in line with their previous earnings per share estimates. Fortunately, the analysts also reconfirmed their revenue estimates, suggesting that it's tracking in line with expectations. Although our data does suggest that TIS' revenue is expected to perform worse than the wider industry. The consensus price target held steady at JP¥3,590, with the latest estimates not enough to have an impact on their price targets.

Following on from that line of thought, we think that the long-term prospects of the business are much more relevant than next year's earnings. We have forecasts for TIS going out to 2027, and you can see them free on our platform here.
