Rimfire Pacific Mining Insider Buyers Net AU$1.4m Despite 12% Stock Decline
Insiders who bought Rimfire Pacific Mining Limited (ASX:RIM) in the last 12 months may probably not pay attention to the stock's recent 12% drop. Reason being, despite the recent loss, insiders original purchase value of AU$426.9k is now worth AU$1.86m.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

Rimfire Pacific Mining Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
The insider Trevor Nairn made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for AU$257k worth of shares at a price of AU$0.0083 each. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (AU$0.03), we still think insider buying is a positive. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.

Insider Ownership
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It appears that Rimfire Pacific Mining insiders own 16% of the company, worth about AU$11m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
