Hapag-Lloyd’s Zim Deal Reshapes Global Container Capacity And Israel Ties
Hapag-Lloyd (XTRA:HLAG) has agreed to acquire 100% of Zim Integrated Shipping Services in a deal valued at more than US$4b.
The transaction involves cooperation with FIMI Opportunity Funds and is structured at a significant premium to Zim’s recent trading levels.
The deal is subject to regulatory, shareholder, and national security approvals, including in Israel, and may lead to Zim being delisted from the NYSE.
