Insiders At Sanmina Sold US$5.7m In Stock, Alluding To Potential Weakness
Over the past year, many Sanmina Corporation (NASDAQ:SANM) insiders sold a significant stake in the company which may have piqued investors' interest. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.
Sanmina Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Executive Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Charles Mason, for US$1.1m worth of shares, at about US$83.91 per share. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of US$134, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. When an insider sells below the current price, it suggests that they considered that lower price to be fair. That makes us wonder what they think of the (higher) recent valuation. Please do note, however, that sellers may have a variety of reasons for selling, so we don't know for sure what they think of the stock price. This single sale was just 29% of Charles Mason's stake.
Sanmina insiders didn't buy any shares over the last year. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!
