This Insider Has Just Sold Shares In Alkami Technology

Simply Wall St

Some Alkami Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ALKT) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the CEO, President & Director, Alex Shootman, recently sold a substantial US$941k worth of stock at a price of US$21.92 per share. However, it's crucial to note that they remain very much invested in the stock and that sale only reduced their holding by 9.1%.

Alkami Technology Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by CEO, President & Director Alex Shootman was not their only sale of Alkami Technology shares this year. They previously made an even bigger sale of -US$1.3m worth of shares at a price of US$30.53 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is US$22.29. So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Insider Ownership

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Alkami Technology insiders own 6.2% of the company, currently worth about US$147m based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

Insiders sold stock recently, but they haven't been buying. And our longer term analysis of insider transactions didn't bring confidence, either.
