Forte Biosciences Stock Down 20% But Insiders Still In US$92k Profit

Published
NasdaqCM:FBRX

Forte Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:FBRX) insiders who acquired shares over the previous 12 months, can probably afford to ignore the recent 20% decline in the stock price. Reason being, despite the recent loss, insiders original purchase value of US$125.0k is now worth US$217.3k.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Forte Biosciences Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Chief Financial Officer Antony Riley for US$125k worth of shares, at about US$5.55 per share. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of US$9.65. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Insider Ownership Of Forte Biosciences

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Insiders own 8.8% of Forte Biosciences shares, worth about US$6.2m, according to our data. Whilst better than nothing, we're not overly impressed by these holdings.

So What Do The Forte Biosciences Insider Transactions Indicate?

There haven't been any insider transactions in the last three months -- that doesn't mean much. However, our analysis of transactions over the last year is heartening. The transactions are fine but it'd be more encouraging if Forte Biosciences insiders bought more shares in the company. While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
