Independent Chairperson Fu Bin Lu Sold A Bunch Of Shares In Grindr
We wouldn't blame Grindr Inc. (NYSE:GRND) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Fu Bin Lu, the Independent Chairperson recently netted about US$11m selling shares at an average price of US$15.14. That's a big disposal, and it decreased their holding size by 37%, which is notable but not too bad.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Grindr
Notably, that recent sale by Fu Bin Lu is the biggest insider sale of Grindr shares that we've seen in the last year. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (US$16.80). As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. This single sale was just 37% of Fu Bin Lu's stake.

Does Grindr Boast High Insider Ownership?
For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Grindr insiders own 57% of the company, currently worth about US$1.7b based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
