Insiders Give Up US$41k As Array Technologies Stock Drops To US$4.39
The recent price decline of 14% in Array Technologies, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:ARRY) stock may have disappointed insiders who bought US$129.7k worth of shares at an average price of US$6.44 in the past 12 months. Insiders invest with the hopes of seeing their money grow in value over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth US$88.4k, which is not what they expected.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Array Technologies
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when CEO & Director Kevin Hostetler bought US$100k worth of shares at a price of US$6.94 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of US$4.39. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.
