Positive Signs As Multiple Insiders Buy Formpipe Software Stock
Usually, when one insider buys stock, it might not be a monumental event. But when multiple insiders are buying like they did in the case of Formpipe Software AB (publ) (STO:FPIP), that sends out a positive message to the company's shareholders.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
Formpipe Software Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Chief Executive Officer Magnus Svenningson bought kr513k worth of shares at a price of kr25.92 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of kr27.00. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. We do always like to see insider buying, but it is worth noting if those purchases were made at well below today's share price, as the discount to value may have narrowed with the rising price. The good news for Formpipe Software share holders is that insiders were buying at near the current price.

Insider Ownership Of Formpipe Software
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Insiders own 25% of Formpipe Software shares, worth about kr365m. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
