Does UJU Electronics (KOSDAQ:065680) Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?
For beginners, it can seem like a good idea (and an exciting prospect) to buy a company that tells a good story to investors, even if it completely lacks a track record of revenue and profit. And in their study titled Who Falls Prey to the Wolf of Wall Street?' Leuz et. al. found that it is 'quite common' for investors to lose money by buying into 'pump and dump' schemes.
If, on the other hand, you like companies that have revenue, and even earn profits, then you may well be interested in UJU Electronics (KOSDAQ:065680). While profit is not necessarily a social good, it's easy to admire a business that can consistently produce it. Conversely, a loss-making company is yet to prove itself with profit, and eventually the sweet milk of external capital may run sour.

How Fast Is UJU Electronics Growing Its Earnings Per Share?
Even modest earnings per share growth (EPS) can create meaningful value, when it is sustained reliably from year to year. So it's no surprise that some investors are more inclined to invest in profitable businesses. Like a firecracker arcing through the night sky, UJU Electronics's EPS shot from ₩870 to ₩1,547, over the last year. You don't see 78% year-on-year growth like that, very often.
I like to take a look at earnings before interest and (EBIT) tax margins, as well as revenue growth, to get another take on the quality of the company's growth. While revenue is looking a bit flat, the good news is EBIT margins improved by 3.0 percentage points to 8.9%, in the last twelve months. That's a real positive.

UJU Electronics isn't a huge company, given its market capitalization of ₩276b. That makes it extra important to check on its balance sheet strength.
Are UJU Electronics Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
Personally, I like to see high insider ownership of a company, since it suggests that it will be managed in the interests of shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that UJU Electronics insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. In fact, they own 36% of the shares, making insiders a very influential shareholder group. I'm reassured by this kind of alignment, as it suggests the business will be run for the benefit of shareholders. With that sort of holding, insiders have about ₩101b riding on the stock, at current prices. That's nothing to sneeze at!
Does UJU Electronics Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?
UJU Electronics's earnings per share growth have been levitating higher, like a mountain goat scaling the Alps. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. The hope is, of course, that the strong growth marks a fundamental improvement in the business economics. So yes, on this short analysis I do think it's worth considering UJU Electronics for a spot on your watchlist. However, before you get too excited we've discovered 2 warning signs for UJU Electronics (1 is significant!) that you should be aware of.
