Innotech (TSE:9880) Has Announced A Dividend Of ¥35.00
Innotech Corporation (TSE:9880) has announced that it will pay a dividend of ¥35.00 per share on the 26th of June. The dividend yield will be 3.4% based on this payment which is still above the industry average.
Innotech's Payment Could Potentially Have Solid Earnings Coverage
Impressive dividend yields are good, but this doesn't matter much if the payments can't be sustained. Prior to this announcement, Innotech's dividend made up quite a large proportion of earnings but only 60% of free cash flows. In general, cash flows are more important than earnings, so we are comfortable that the dividend will be sustainable going forward, especially with so much cash left over for reinvestment.
Over the next year, EPS could expand by 5.5% if the company continues along the path it has been on recently. If the dividend continues along recent trends, we estimate the payout ratio could reach 77%, which is on the higher side, but certainly still feasible.

Innotech Has A Solid Track Record
Even over a long history of paying dividends, the company's distributions have been remarkably stable. The dividend has gone from an annual total of ¥14.00 in 2015 to the most recent total annual payment of ¥70.00. This implies that the company grew its distributions at a yearly rate of about 17% over that duration. Rapidly growing dividends for a long time is a very valuable feature for an income stock.
We Could See Innotech's Dividend Growing
Investors could be attracted to the stock based on the quality of its payment history. Innotech has seen EPS rising for the last five years, at 5.5% per annum. EPS has been growing at a reasonable rate, although with most of the profits being paid out to shareholders, growth prospects could be more limited in the future.
Innotech Looks Like A Great Dividend Stock
Overall, we like to see the dividend staying consistent, and we think Innotech might even raise payments in the future. Distributions are quite easily covered by earnings, which are also being converted to cash flows. All of these factors considered, we think this has solid potential as a dividend stock.
Investors generally tend to favour companies with a consistent, stable dividend policy as opposed to those operating an irregular one.
