Will Murata’s SiC-Ready High-Voltage MLCC Push Change Murata Manufacturing's (TSE:6981) Narrative?
Reviewed by Sasha Jovanovic
- Earlier this month, Murata Manufacturing launched and began mass production of a compact 1.25kV, up to 15nF C0G multilayer ceramic capacitor aimed at EV onboard chargers and high-performance consumer power supplies.
- By aligning this high-voltage MLCC with the industry’s move toward SiC MOSFET-based power conversion, Murata is directly targeting a technically demanding and fast-evolving segment of the electronics supply chain.
- We’ll now examine how this push into SiC-ready high-voltage MLCCs shapes Murata’s investment narrative and future growth positioning.

What Is Murata Manufacturing's Investment Narrative?
To own Murata, you have to believe in its ability to convert strong component know‑how into steady, above‑market earnings growth while justifying a premium multiple. The new SiC‑ready 1.25kV MLCC and the wider CES 2026 showcase reinforce Murata’s positioning in EV power electronics, connectivity, sensing and health tech, but, in my view, they do not radically change the near‑term picture. The more immediate catalysts still look company‑specific: delivery against management’s revenue and profit guidance, execution of the sizeable buyback, and capital allocation after the Singapore delisting and dividend uplift. On the risk side, a relatively high P/E versus domestic electronics peers, modest ROE and a share price that has already run hard over the past quarter leave less room for disappointment if growth or margins soften.
However, investors also need to weigh how much they are paying for Murata’s recent earnings momentum. Murata Manufacturing's shares have been on the rise but are still potentially undervalued by 10%. Find out what it's worth.Exploring Other Perspectives
