This Analyst Just Downgraded Their Aeffe S.p.A. (BIT:AEF) EPS Forecasts

Market forces rained on the parade of Aeffe S.p.A. (BIT:AEF) shareholders today, when the covering analyst downgraded their forecasts for this year. Both revenue and earnings per share (EPS) estimates were cut sharply as the analyst factored in the latest outlook for the business, concluding that they were too optimistic previously.

After the downgrade, the consensus from Aeffe's single analyst is for revenues of €203m in 2025, which would reflect an uneasy 13% decline in sales compared to the last year of performance. After this downgrade, the company is anticipated to report a loss of €0.44 in 2025, a sharp decline from a profit over the last year. However, before this estimates update, the consensus had been expecting revenues of €251m and €0.17 per share in losses. Ergo, there's been a clear change in sentiment, with the analyst administering a notable cut to this year's revenue estimates, while at the same time increasing their loss per share forecasts.

BIT:AEF Earnings and Revenue Growth September 29th 2025

The consensus price target fell 24% to €0.51, with the analyst clearly concerned about the company following the weaker revenue and earnings outlook.

Looking at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can make sense of these forecasts is to see how they measure up against both past performance and industry growth estimates. Over the past five years, revenues have declined around 1.3% annually. Worse, forecasts are essentially predicting the decline to accelerate, with the estimate for an annualised 13% decline in revenue until the end of 2025. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to see their revenue grow 6.8% per year. So while a broad number of companies are forecast to grow, unfortunately Aeffe is expected to see its sales affected worse than other companies in the industry.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to note from this downgrade is that the consensus increased its forecast losses this year, suggesting all may not be well at Aeffe. Regrettably, they also downgraded their revenue estimates, and the latest forecasts imply the business will grow sales slower than the wider market. After such a stark change in sentiment from the analyst, we'd understand if readers now felt a bit wary of Aeffe.

Still, the long-term prospects of the business are much more relevant than next year's earnings. At least one analyst has provided forecasts out to 2026, which can be seen for free on our platform here.

Of course, seeing company management invest large sums of money in a stock can be just as useful as knowing whether analysts are downgrading their estimates. So you may also wish to search this free list of stocks with high insider ownership.
