I Ran A Stock Scan For Earnings Growth And Fine Organic Industries (NSE:FINEORG) Passed With Ease
Some have more dollars than sense, they say, so even companies that have no revenue, no profit, and a record of falling short, can easily find investors. But as Peter Lynch said in One Up On Wall Street, 'Long shots almost never pay off.'
So if you're like me, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like Fine Organic Industries (NSE:FINEORG). While that doesn't make the shares worth buying at any price, you can't deny that successful capitalism requires profit, eventually. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

Fine Organic Industries's Earnings Per Share Are Growing.
If you believe that markets are even vaguely efficient, then over the long term you'd expect a company's share price to follow its earnings per share (EPS). Therefore, there are plenty of investors who like to buy shares in companies that are growing EPS. As a tree reaches steadily for the sky, Fine Organic Industries's EPS has grown 24% each year, compound, over three years. So it's not surprising to see the company trades on a very high multiple of (past) earnings.
I like to take a look at earnings before interest and (EBIT) tax margins, as well as revenue growth, to get another take on the quality of the company's growth. The good news is that Fine Organic Industries is growing revenues, and EBIT margins improved by 3.8 percentage points to 17%, over the last year. Ticking those two boxes is a good sign of growth, in my book.

Are Fine Organic Industries Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
Personally, I like to see high insider ownership of a company, since it suggests that it will be managed in the interests of shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that Fine Organic Industries insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. Indeed, with a collective holding of 76%, company insiders are in control and have plenty of capital behind the venture. To me this is a good sign because it suggests they will be incentivised to build value for shareholders over the long term. And their holding is extremely valuable at the current share price, totalling ₹118b. That means they have plenty of their own capital riding on the performance of the business!
It means a lot to see insiders invested in the business, but I find myself wondering if remuneration policies are shareholder friendly. Well, based on the CEO pay, I'd say they are indeed. I discovered that the median total compensation for the CEOs of companies like Fine Organic Industries with market caps between ₹77b and ₹248b is about ₹37m.
Fine Organic Industries offered total compensation worth ₹29m to its CEO in the year to . That comes in below the average for similar sized companies, and seems pretty reasonable to me. While the level of CEO compensation isn't a huge factor in my view of the company, modest remuneration is a positive, because it suggests that the board keeps shareholder interests in mind. It can also be a sign of good governance, more generally.
Is Fine Organic Industries Worth Keeping An Eye On?
For growth investors like me, Fine Organic Industries's raw rate of earnings growth is a beacon in the night. If that's not enough, consider also that the CEO pay is quite reasonable, and insiders are well-invested alongside other shareholders. Each to their own, but I think all this makes Fine Organic Industries look rather interesting indeed. Even so, be aware that Fine Organic Industries is showing 1 warning sign in our investment analysis , you should know about...
Although Fine Organic Industries certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
