If EPS Growth Is Important To You, Future (LON:FUTR) Presents An Opportunity
It's common for many investors, especially those who are inexperienced, to buy shares in companies with a good story even if these companies are loss-making. But as Peter Lynch said in One Up On Wall Street, 'Long shots almost never pay off.' While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else investors will move on and the company will wither away.
So if this idea of high risk and high reward doesn't suit, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like Future (LON:FUTR). While profit isn't the sole metric that should be considered when investing, it's worth recognising businesses that can consistently produce it.

Future's Improving Profits
Over the last three years, Future has grown earnings per share (EPS) at as impressive rate from a relatively low point, resulting in a three year percentage growth rate that isn't particularly indicative of expected future performance. So it would be better to isolate the growth rate over the last year for our analysis. Impressively, Future's EPS catapulted from UK£0.59 to UK£1.02, over the last year. Year on year growth of 72% is certainly a sight to behold. The best case scenario? That the business has hit a true inflection point.
Top-line growth is a great indicator that growth is sustainable, and combined with a high earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margin, it's a great way for a company to maintain a competitive advantage in the market. EBIT margins for Future remained fairly unchanged over the last year, however the company should be pleased to report its revenue growth for the period of 36% to UK£825m. That's encouraging news for the company!

Are Future Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
It's a necessity that company leaders act in the best interest of shareholders and so insider investment always comes as a reassurance to the market. Shareholders will be pleased by the fact that insiders own Future shares worth a considerable sum. We note that their impressive stake in the company is worth UK£88m. Holders should find this level of insider commitment quite encouraging, since it would ensure that the leaders of the company would also experience their success, or failure, with the stock.
Should You Add Future To Your Watchlist?
Future's earnings per share have been soaring, with growth rates sky high. That sort of growth is nothing short of eye-catching, and the large investment held by insiders should certainly brighten the view of the company. At times fast EPS growth is a sign the business has reached an inflection point, so there's a potential opportunity to be had here. So based on this quick analysis, we do think it's worth considering Future for a spot on your watchlist. Even so, be aware that Future is showing 1 warning sign in our investment analysis , you should know about...
Although Future certainly looks good, it may appeal to more investors if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
