Most Popular Narrative: 28.5% Undervalued

Trimble’s most followed narrative points to a fair value of about $93.33 per share, compared with the recent $66.74 close. This frames a sizeable gap for investors to weigh.

Accelerating adoption of AI-enabled, cloud-based solutions (such as ProjectSight, autonomous procurement, and analytics in project management and transportation) is increasing customer value and workflow integration, supporting higher recurring software revenues and improved net margins.

Curious how a software heavy model, higher recurring revenue and rising margin assumptions combine into that valuation gap? The narrative focuses on compounding earnings power, a richer software mix and a future profit multiple that is described as sitting above the wider electronics space. Want to see exactly how those pieces are stitched together into the $93.33 fair value figure?

Result: Fair Value of $93.33 (UNDERVALUED)

However, you still need to weigh risks such as weaker government spending and faster AI adoption by rivals, which could pressure Trimble’s growth plans and margins.

Another View: P/E Tells A Tougher Story

While the SWS DCF model suggests Trimble is undervalued, its current P/E of 37.5x sits well above both the peer average of 30.1x and the US Software industry at 24.3x, and above a fair ratio of 32.7x. This raises the question: is the market already paying up for this story?

Between 2003 and 2011, gold nearly went 5x. Dollar went weak too. The gold companies did bad. It is worth noting that between 2003 and 2011, there was 2008! I will leave it your inference and research.
