Possible Signal As Assertio Holdings Insiders Sell US$1.1m In Stock

Despite a 15% gain in Assertio Holdings, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:ASRT) stock price this week, shareholders shouldn't let up. The fact that insiders chose to dispose of US$1.1m worth of stock in the past 12 months even though prices were relatively low could be indicative of some anticipated weakness.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Assertio Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the insider, Daniel Peisert, sold US$479k worth of shares at a price of US$3.04 per share. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is US$1.10. So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it.

All up, insiders sold more shares in Assertio Holdings than they bought, over the last year.
