Numerous Butterfly Network Insiders Sold Stock: Not A Positive Omen
Butterfly Network, Inc. (NYSE:BFLY) shareholders might have a reason to worry after multiple insiders sold their shares over the last year. When evaluating insider transactions, knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more beneficial than knowing whether they are selling, as the latter can be open to many interpretations. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Butterfly Network Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by CEO, President & Chairman of the Board Joseph DeVivo for US$99k worth of shares, at about US$0.95 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of US$3.60. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
