Analysts Just Slashed Their EHang Holdings Limited (NASDAQ:EH) EPS Numbers

Simply Wall St

One thing we could say about the analysts on EHang Holdings Limited (NASDAQ:EH) - they aren't optimistic, having just made a major negative revision to their near-term (statutory) forecasts for the organization. Both revenue and earnings per share (EPS) estimates were cut sharply as analysts factored in the latest outlook for the business, concluding that they were too optimistic previously.

Following the downgrade, the latest consensus from EHang Holdings' 13 analysts is for revenues of CN¥518m in 2025, which would reflect a substantial 23% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Losses are expected to be contained, narrowing 15% per share from last year to CN¥2.88 per share. Yet before this consensus update, the analysts had been forecasting revenues of CN¥895m and losses of CN¥1.51 per share in 2025. So there's been quite a change-up of views after the recent consensus updates, with the analysts making a serious cut to their revenue forecasts while also expecting losses per share to increase.

NasdaqGM:EH Earnings and Revenue Growth August 27th 2025

The consensus price target fell 9.9% to CN¥176, implicitly signalling that lower earnings per share are a leading indicator for EHang Holdings' valuation. Fixating on a single price target can be unwise though, since the consensus target is effectively the average of analyst price targets. As a result, some investors like to look at the range of estimates to see if there are any diverging opinions on the company's valuation. The most optimistic EHang Holdings analyst has a price target of CN¥211 per share, while the most pessimistic values it at CN¥138. These price targets show that analysts do have some differing views on the business, but the estimates do not vary enough to suggest to us that some are betting on wild success or utter failure.

One way to get more context on these forecasts is to look at how they compare to both past performance, and how other companies in the same industry are performing. It's clear from the latest estimates that EHang Holdings' rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 52% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2025 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 24% p.a. over the past five years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to grow their revenue 8.0% annually. It seems obvious that, while the growth outlook is brighter than the recent past, the analysts also expect EHang Holdings to grow faster than the wider industry.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away is that analysts increased their loss per share estimates for this year. Unfortunately, analysts also downgraded their revenue estimates, although our data indicates revenues are expected to perform better than the wider market. With a serious cut to this year's expectations and a falling price target, we wouldn't be surprised if investors were becoming wary of EHang Holdings.

Even so, the longer term trajectory of the business is much more important for the value creation of shareholders. At Simply Wall St, we have a full range of analyst estimates for EHang Holdings going out to 2027, and you can see them free on our platform here.
