Farglory Land Development's Dividend Is Well Covered By Earnings
A big dividend yield for a few years doesn't mean much if it can't be sustained. The last dividend made up quite a large portion of free cash flows, and this was made worse by the lack of free cash flows. Generally, we think that this would be a risky long term practice.
Earnings per share could rise by 11.0% over the next year if things go the same way as they have for the last few years. Assuming the dividend continues along recent trends, our estimates say the payout ratio could reach 79%, which is definitely on the higher side, but we wouldn't necessarily say this is unsustainable.

This means that it has been growing its distributions at 3.6% per annum over that time. We're glad to see the dividend has risen, but with a limited rate of growth and fluctuations in the payments the total shareholder return may be limited.
Farglory Land Development's Dividend Might Lack Growth
With a relatively unstable dividend, it's even more important to see if earnings per share is growing. We are encouraged to see that Farglory Land Development has grown earnings per share at 11% per year over the past five years. Past earnings growth has been decent, but unless this is one of those rare businesses that can grow without additional capital investment or marketing spend, we'd generally expect the higher payout ratio to limit its future growth prospects.
