Independent Chairman of the Board of Attendo Picks Up 319% More Stock
Attendo AB (publ) (STO:ATT) shareholders (or potential shareholders) will be happy to see that the Independent Chairman of the Board, Ulf Mattsson, recently bought a whopping kr5.0m worth of stock, at a price of kr64.30. That increased their holding by a full 319%, which arguably implies the sort of confidence required for a shy sweet-natured nerd to ask the most popular kid in the school to go out on a date.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Attendo
Notably, that recent purchase by Ulf Mattsson is the biggest insider purchase of Attendo shares that we've seen in the last year. That implies that an insider found the current price of kr66.70 per share to be enticing. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. The good news for Attendo share holders is that an insider was buying at near the current price. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Ulf Mattsson.

Insider Ownership
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Attendo insiders own 16% of the company, currently worth about kr1.6b based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
What Might The Insider Transactions At Attendo Tell Us?
The recent insider purchase is heartening. And the longer term insider transactions also give us confidence. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest Attendo insiders are well aligned, and quite possibly think the share price is too low. Looks promising! So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing. At Simply Wall St, we've found that Attendo has 2 warning signs (1 makes us a bit uncomfortable!) that deserve your attention before going any further with your analysis.
