Many Bure Equity AB (publ) (STO:BURE) insiders ditched their stock over the past year, which may be of interest to the company's shareholders. When analyzing insider transactions, it is usually more valuable to know whether insiders are buying versus knowing if they are selling, as the latter sends an ambiguous message. However, shareholders should take a deeper look if several insiders are selling stock over a specific time period.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
Bure Equity Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Director, Carl Bjorkman, for kr39m worth of shares, at about kr395 per share. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (kr335). So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it. Notably Carl Bjorkman was also the biggest buyer, having purchased kr21m worth of shares.
In the last twelve months insiders purchased 54.14k shares for kr21m. On the other hand they divested 105.00k shares, for kr42m. In total, Bure Equity insiders sold more than they bought over the last year. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. Does Bure Equity Boast High Insider Ownership?
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Bure Equity insiders own about kr6.1b worth of shares (which is 25% of the company). This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
