Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Sebastian Lindstrom, the Chief Executive Officer of QleanAir AB (publ) (STO:QAIR) recently shelled out kr991k to buy stock, at kr14.90 per share. That purchase might not be huge but it did increase their holding by 32%.

QleanAir Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Director Fredrik Persson bought kr5.8m worth of shares at a price of kr26.50 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being kr15.50). While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.

While QleanAir insiders bought shares during the last year, they didn't sell. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Does QleanAir Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It's great to see that QleanAir insiders own 49% of the company, worth about kr112m. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

What Might The Insider Transactions At QleanAir Tell Us?

It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchases. And the longer term insider transactions also give us confidence. But we don't feel the same about the fact the company is making losses.
