Shareholders Would Enjoy A Repeat Of Drozapol-Profil's (WSE:DPL) Recent Growth In Returns
If we want to find a stock that could multiply over the long term, what are the underlying trends we should look for? Amongst other things, we'll want to see two things; firstly, a growing return on capital employed (ROCE) and secondly, an expansion in the company's amount of capital employed. This shows us that it's a compounding machine, able to continually reinvest its earnings back into the business and generate higher returns. And in light of that, the trends we're seeing at Drozapol-Profil's (WSE:DPL) look very promising so lets take a look.
Understanding Return On Capital Employed (ROCE)
For those who don't know, ROCE is a measure of a company's yearly pre-tax profit (its return), relative to the capital employed in the business. The formula for this calculation on Drozapol-Profil is:
Return on Capital Employed = Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) ÷ (Total Assets - Current Liabilities)
0.22 = zł21m ÷ (zł117m - zł24m) (Based on the trailing twelve months to June 2022).
So, Drozapol-Profil has an ROCE of 22%. In absolute terms that's a very respectable return and compared to the Trade Distributors industry average of 27% it's pretty much on par.

The Trend Of ROCE
We're delighted to see that Drozapol-Profil is reaping rewards from its investments and is now generating some pre-tax profits. About five years ago the company was generating losses but things have turned around because it's now earning 22% on its capital. In addition to that, Drozapol-Profil is employing 64% more capital than previously which is expected of a company that's trying to break into profitability. This can indicate that there's plenty of opportunities to invest capital internally and at ever higher rates, both common traits of a multi-bagger.
One more thing to note, Drozapol-Profil has decreased current liabilities to 21% of total assets over this period, which effectively reduces the amount of funding from suppliers or short-term creditors. So shareholders would be pleased that the growth in returns has mostly come from underlying business performance.
The Bottom Line
Overall, Drozapol-Profil gets a big tick from us thanks in most part to the fact that it is now profitable and is reinvesting in its business. And with the stock having performed exceptionally well over the last five years, these patterns are being accounted for by investors. Therefore, we think it would be worth your time to check if these trends are going to continue.
