Do Its Financials Have Any Role To Play In Driving RFHIC Corporation's (KOSDAQ:218410) Stock Up Recently?

Most readers would already be aware that RFHIC's (KOSDAQ:218410) stock increased significantly by 11% over the past three months. Given that stock prices are usually aligned with a company's financial performance in the long-term, we decided to study its financial indicators more closely to see if they had a hand to play in the recent price move. Particularly, we will be paying attention to RFHIC's ROE today.

ROE or return on equity is a useful tool to assess how effectively a company can generate returns on the investment it received from its shareholders. In other words, it is a profitability ratio which measures the rate of return on the capital provided by the company's shareholders.

How Do You Calculate Return On Equity?

Return on equity can be calculated by using the formula:

Return on Equity = Net Profit (from continuing operations) ÷ Shareholders' Equity

So, based on the above formula, the ROE for RFHIC is:

2.2% = ₩7.9b ÷ ₩365b (Based on the trailing twelve months to June 2025).

The 'return' is the profit over the last twelve months. That means that for every ₩1 worth of shareholders' equity, the company generated ₩0.02 in profit.

What Has ROE Got To Do With Earnings Growth?

So far, we've learned that ROE is a measure of a company's profitability. Based on how much of its profits the company chooses to reinvest or "retain", we are then able to evaluate a company's future ability to generate profits. Assuming all else is equal, companies that have both a higher return on equity and higher profit retention are usually the ones that have a higher growth rate when compared to companies that don't have the same features.

RFHIC's Earnings Growth And 2.2% ROE

It is hard to argue that RFHIC's ROE is much good in and of itself. Not just that, even compared to the industry average of 7.4%, the company's ROE is entirely unremarkable. Despite this, surprisingly, RFHIC saw an exceptional 47% net income growth over the past five years. Therefore, there could be other reasons behind this growth. For example, it is possible that the company's management has made some good strategic decisions, or that the company has a low payout ratio.

We then compared RFHIC's net income growth with the industry and we're pleased to see that the company's growth figure is higher when compared with the industry which has a growth rate of 4.5% in the same 5-year period.
