Sysmex Corporation Earnings Missed Analyst Estimates: Here's What Analysts Are Forecasting Now
It's shaping up to be a tough period for Sysmex Corporation (TSE:6869), which a week ago released some disappointing quarterly results that could have a notable impact on how the market views the stock. Results showed a clear earnings miss, with JP¥106b revenue coming in 10.0% lower than what the analystsexpected. Statutory earnings per share (EPS) of JP¥7.30 missed the mark badly, arriving some 60% below what was expected. This is an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance in its report, look at what experts are forecasting for next year, and see if there has been any change to expectations for the business. Readers will be glad to know we've aggregated the latest statutory forecasts to see whether the analysts have changed their mind on Sysmex after the latest results.
Taking into account the latest results, the current consensus from Sysmex's 16 analysts is for revenues of JP¥532.6b in 2026. This would reflect a satisfactory 6.0% increase on its revenue over the past 12 months. Per-share earnings are expected to jump 24% to JP¥94.05. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of JP¥535.6b and earnings per share (EPS) of JP¥96.10 in 2026. The analysts seem to have become a little more negative on the business after the latest results, given the small dip in their earnings per share numbers for next year.

It might be a surprise to learn that the consensus price target was broadly unchanged at JP¥3,037, with the analysts clearly implying that the forecast decline in earnings is not expected to have much of an impact on valuation. That's not the only conclusion we can draw from this data however, as some investors also like to consider the spread in estimates when evaluating analyst price targets. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Sysmex at JP¥3,600 per share, while the most bearish prices it at JP¥2,480. There are definitely some different views on the stock, but the range of estimates is not wide enough as to imply that the situation is unforecastable, in our view.
Of course, another way to look at these forecasts is to place them into context against the industry itself. We would highlight that Sysmex's revenue growth is expected to slow, with the forecast 8.1% annualised growth rate until the end of 2026 being well below the historical 12% p.a. growth over the last five years. By way of comparison, the other companies in this industry with analyst coverage are forecast to grow their revenue at 5.6% annually. So it's pretty clear that, while Sysmex's revenue growth is expected to slow, it's still expected to grow faster than the industry itself.
The Bottom Line
The most important thing to take away is that the analysts downgraded their earnings per share estimates, showing that there has been a clear decline in sentiment following these results. Happily, there were no major changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow faster than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
With that said, the long-term trajectory of the company's earnings is a lot more important than next year. We have estimates - from multiple Sysmex analysts - going out to 2028, and you can see them free on our platform here.
