The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Burford Capital

The Founder & Chief Investment Officer Jonathan Molot made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for UK£9.2m worth of shares at a price of UK£11.08 each. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being UK£10.44). While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. Notably Jonathan Molot was also the biggest seller.

Happily, we note that in the last year insiders paid UK£9.5m for 860.27k shares. On the other hand they divested 834.97k shares, for UK£9.2m. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by Burford Capital insiders.
