Rain City Resources Slides As Insider Purchases Lose Another CA$215k
The recent 10.0% drop in Rain City Resources Inc.'s (CSE:RAIN) stock could come as a blow to insiders who purchased CA$561.7k worth of stock at an average buy price of CA$0.073 over the past 12 months. Insiders invest with the hopes of seeing their money grow in value over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth CA$346.7k, which is not what they expected.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.
Rain City Resources Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by CEO & Director Benjamin Samuel Hill for CA$225k worth of shares, at about CA$0.075 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being CA$0.045). While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.
