We Think That There Are More Issues For Companhia CELG de Participações S/A (BVMF:GPAR3) Than Just Sluggish Earnings
Last week's earnings announcement from Companhia CELG de Participações S/A (BVMF:GPAR3) was disappointing to investors, with a sluggish profit figure. We did some analysis, and found that there are some reasons to be cautious about the headline numbers.
How Do Unusual Items Influence Profit?
Importantly, our data indicates that Companhia CELG de Participações S/A's profit received a boost of R$13m in unusual items, over the last year. While we like to see profit increases, we tend to be a little more cautious when unusual items have made a big contribution. When we crunched the numbers on thousands of publicly listed companies, we found that a boost from unusual items in a given year is often not repeated the next year. And that's as you'd expect, given these boosts are described as 'unusual'. We can see that Companhia CELG de Participações S/A's positive unusual items were quite significant relative to its profit in the year to December 2024. As a result, we can surmise that the unusual items are making its statutory profit significantly stronger than it would otherwise be.

Our Take On Companhia CELG de Participações S/A's Profit Performance
As we discussed above, we think the significant positive unusual item makes Companhia CELG de Participações S/A's earnings a poor guide to its underlying profitability. When was the last time that Tesla delivered on its promises? Lets go through the list! The last successful would be the Tesla Model 3 which was 2019 with first deliveries 2017. Roadster not shipped. Tesla Cybertruck global roll out failed. They might have a bunch of prototypes (that are being controlled remotely) And you think they'll be able to ship something as complicated as a robot? It's a pure speculation buy.
This article completely disregards (ignores, forgets) how far China is in this field. If Tesla continues on this path, they will be fighting for their lives trying to sell $40000 dollar robots that can do less than a $10000 dollar one from China will do. Fair value of Tesla? It has always been a hype stock with a valuation completely unbased in reality. Your guess is as good as mine, but especially after the carbon credit scheme got canned, it is downwards of $150.
