Bullish NTAW Holdings Insider Buying Worth AU$3.06m Yet To Pay Off

The recent price decline of 10.0% in NTAW Holdings Limited's (ASX:NTD) stock may have disappointed insiders who bought AU$3.06m worth of shares at an average price of AU$0.37 in the past 12 months. This is not good as insiders invest based on expectations that their money will appreciate over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their original investment is now worth only AU$1.86m.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At NTAW Holdings

The Non-Independent Non-Executive Director Terence Smith made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for AU$1.5m worth of shares at a price of AU$0.37 each. That means that even when the share price was higher than AU$0.23 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. As a general rule, we feel more positive about a stock if insiders have bought shares at above current prices, because that suggests they viewed the stock as good value, even at a higher price.

Does NTAW Holdings Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It appears that NTAW Holdings insiders own 33% of the company, worth about AU$12m. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.

So What Do The NTAW Holdings Insider Transactions Indicate?
