The recent 12% drop in Mayne Pharma Group Limited's (ASX:MYX) stock could come as a blow to insiders who purchased AU$137k worth of stock at an average buy price of AU$0.33 over the past 12 months. This is not good as insiders invest based on expectations that their money will appreciate over time. However, as a result of recent losses, their original investment is now worth only AU$105k.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Mayne Pharma Group

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Independent Non-Executive Chairman Frank Condella bought AU$137k worth of shares at a price of AU$0.33 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than AU$0.26 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. It's very possible they regret the purchase, but it's more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is encouraging to see an insider paid above the current price for shares, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Frank Condella.
