Here's Why I Think Franklin Wireless (NASDAQ:FKWL) Is An Interesting Stock
It's only natural that many investors, especially those who are new to the game, prefer to buy shares in 'sexy' stocks with a good story, even if those businesses lose money. But the reality is that when a company loses money each year, for long enough, its investors will usually take their share of those losses.
If, on the other hand, you like companies that have revenue, and even earn profits, then you may well be interested in Franklin Wireless (NASDAQ:FKWL). While profit is not necessarily a social good, it's easy to admire a business that can consistently produce it. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

How Fast Is Franklin Wireless Growing Its Earnings Per Share?
In the last three years Franklin Wireless's earnings per share took off like a rocket; fast, and from a low base. So the actual rate of growth doesn't tell us much. Thus, it makes sense to focus on more recent growth rates, instead. Like the last firework on New Year's Eve accelerating into the sky, Franklin Wireless's EPS shot from US$0.52 to US$1.53, over the last year. You don't see 191% year-on-year growth like that, very often. That could be a sign that the business has reached a true inflection point.
One way to double-check a company's growth is to look at how its revenue, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) margins are changing. The good news is that Franklin Wireless is growing revenues, and EBIT margins improved by 3.0 percentage points to 12%, over the last year. That's great to see, on both counts.

Since Franklin Wireless is no giant, with a market capitalization of US$83m, so you should definitely check its cash and debt before getting too excited about its prospects.
Are Franklin Wireless Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
I like company leaders to have some skin in the game, so to speak, because it increases alignment of incentives between the people running the business, and its true owners. As a result, I'm encouraged by the fact that insiders own Franklin Wireless shares worth a considerable sum. To be specific, they have US$18m worth of shares. That's a lot of money, and no small incentive to work hard. That amounts to 22% of the company, demonstrating a degree of high-level alignment with shareholders.
Does Franklin Wireless Deserve A Spot On Your Watchlist?
Franklin Wireless's earnings per share growth have been levitating higher, like a mountain goat scaling the Alps. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. At times fast EPS growth is a sign the business has reached an inflection point; and I do like those. So to my mind Franklin Wireless is worth putting on your watchlist; after all, shareholders do well when the market underestimates fast growing companies. It is worth noting though that we have found 3 warning signs for Franklin Wireless (1 is significant!) that you need to take into consideration.
