Procore Technologies Insiders Sold US$19m Of Shares Suggesting Hesitancy
The fact that multiple Procore Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:PCOR) insiders offloaded a considerable amount of shares over the past year could have raised some eyebrows amongst investors. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, when multiple insiders sell stock over a specific duration, shareholders should take notice as that could possibly be a red flag.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Procore Technologies
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Founder, Craig Courtemanche, sold US$3.1m worth of shares at a price of US$61.38 per share. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$47.92). So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

Insider Ownership
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. It's great to see that Procore Technologies insiders own 6.8% of the company, worth about US$451m. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
