Cadence’s Expanded AI Node Alliance With TSMC Might Change The Case For Investing In Cadence (CDNS)
- In April 2026, Cadence Design Systems expanded its long-running collaboration with TSMC to deliver AI-focused IP and certified, end-to-end EDA design flows for TSMC’s N3, N2, A16 and A14 process technologies, while deepening separate alliances with NVIDIA and Google around agent-based AI design and cloud-native chip development.
- Together, these alliances position Cadence at the center of advanced-node and agentic AI chip design, linking its EDA platforms to leading foundry, cloud, and accelerated-computing ecosystems for AI, high-performance computing, and 3D-IC applications.
- We’ll now examine how Cadence’s expanded TSMC collaboration around advanced AI process nodes might influence the company’s AI-focused investment narrative.
The future of work is here. Discover the 35 top robotics and automation stocks leading the charge in AI-driven automation and industrial transformation.
Cadence Design Systems Investment Narrative Recap
To own Cadence, you generally need to believe that AI-driven chip complexity will keep reinforcing the need for its EDA and IP platforms, and that the company can defend its premium software economics. The expanded TSMC collaboration reinforces Cadence’s role in advanced-node AI design, but it does not fundamentally change the key near term catalyst, which remains broader adoption of its agentic AI tools, or the central risk around intensifying competition and pricing pressure in AI design software.
Among the recent announcements, the deepened partnership with NVIDIA is especially relevant. It ties Cadence’s agentic AI and system analysis tools to NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and Omniverse platforms, which could amplify the impact of the new TSMC flows if customers standardize on Cadence for AI silicon, data center, and robotics design. At the same time, Cadence’s reliance on these large partners keeps concentration and partnership risk squarely in focus for shareholders.
Yet behind the AI growth story, investors should also be aware of concentration and pricing risks that could...

Gold miners still look inexpensive because the market thinks we're near the top of the cycle. Given what's happening to the dollar, I'm not so sure.

Is it a safer bet on gold to have just exposure to ETFs?
Between 2003 and 2011, gold nearly went 5x. Dollar went weak too. The gold companies did bad. It is worth noting that between 2003 and 2011, there was 2008! I will leave it your inference and research.
