Insiders were net sellers of Silicon Laboratories Inc.'s (NASDAQ:SLAB ) stock during the past year. That is, insiders sold more stock than they bought.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Silicon Laboratories

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the CEO, President & Director, Robert Johnson, sold US$398k worth of shares at a price of US$108 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (US$97.86). So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price. Robert Johnson was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
