Possible Bearish Signals With Pacira BioSciences Insiders Disposing Stock

Pacira BioSciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:PCRX) shareholders may have reason to be concerned, as several insiders sold their shares over the past year. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, if numerous insiders are selling, shareholders should investigate more.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Pacira BioSciences

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the insider, Kristen Dunker, for US$377k worth of shares, at about US$26.24 per share. So we know that an insider sold shares at around the present share price of US$23.87. While insider selling is a negative, to us, it is more negative if the shares are sold at a lower price. We note that this sale took place at around the current price, so it isn't a major concern, though it's hardly a good sign.

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests.
