Insiders At Arcellx Sold US$2.6m In Stock, Alluding To Potential Weakness
Many Arcellx, Inc. (NASDAQ:ACLX) insiders ditched their stock over the past year, which may be of interest to the company's shareholders. Knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more helpful when evaluating insider transactions, as insider selling can have various explanations. However, shareholders should take a deeper look if several insiders are selling stock over a specific time period.
While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Arcellx
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Chairman of the Board, Rami Elghandour, for US$2.4m worth of shares, at about US$62.69 per share. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of US$58.25. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. In this case, the big sale took place at around the current price, so it's not too bad (but it's still not a positive).
In the last year Arcellx insiders didn't buy any company stock. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Arcellx Insiders Are Selling The Stock
Over the last three months, we've seen significant insider selling at Arcellx. In total, Chairman of the Board Rami Elghandour sold US$2.4m worth of shares in that time, and we didn't record any purchases whatsoever. This may suggest that some insiders think that the shares are not cheap.
Does Arcellx Boast High Insider Ownership?
Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. It appears that Arcellx insiders own 2.3% of the company, worth about US$75m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
What Might The Insider Transactions At Arcellx Tell Us?
An insider sold Arcellx shares recently, but they didn't buy any. And there weren't any purchases to give us comfort, over the last year. While insiders do own shares, they don't own a heap, and they have been selling. So we'd only buy after careful consideration. So while it's helpful to know what insiders are doing in terms of buying or selling, it's also helpful to know the risks that a particular company is facing. While conducting our analysis, we found that Arcellx has 2 warning signs and it would be unwise to ignore these.
