Vaalco Energy: Mr. Market Sees A Transition Year

Summary FPSO refurbishment project is underway. This will temporarily reduce annual production. Egyptian receivables initially climbed but began to reverse in the second half of the fiscal year 2024. The FPSO project, a significant capital expense, will not recur soon. Therefore, free cash flow is likely to increase substantially in fiscal year 2026. Post-FPSO, a planned drilling campaign aims to substantially raise future production. An experiment to eliminate hydrogen sulfide from some production may unexpectedly increase 2025 production if this is successful. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Vaalco Energy: Mr. Market Does Not Care

Summary Vaalco Energy's Q4 shows production growth from a recent acquisition, but Q1 2024 will see a dip due to FPSO repairs. Offshore drilling campaign mid-year may present a buying opportunity now if results significantly offset the decline from the offline FPSO. Those results possibly could do better. The Gabon business and Egyptian business will likely post significant growth in the current fiscal year. The market undervalues Vaalco's diversification. Svenka appears to be worth almost nothing at the current stock price. The company is debt free with a decent cash balance. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha
