Insiders Could Have Profited By Holding onto Magic Empire Global Shares Despite 10% Drop
Even though Magic Empire Global Limited (NASDAQ:MEGL) has fallen by 10% over the past week , insiders who sold HK$1.5m worth of stock over the past year have had less luck. The average selling price of HK$0.91 is still lower than the current share price, or in other words, insiders would have been better off holding on to their shares.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Magic Empire Global Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the Chairman of the Board, Wai Chan, sold US$347k worth of shares at a price of US$1.20 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is US$0.46. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.

Insider Ownership Of Magic Empire Global
Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Magic Empire Global insiders own about US$4.9m worth of shares (which is 52% of the company). This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
So What Does This Data Suggest About Magic Empire Global Insiders?
