Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Jeffrey LeBlanc, the Director of Cactus Acquisition Corp. 1 Limited (NASDAQ:CCTS) recently shelled out US$50k to buy stock, at US$0.50 per share. Even though that isn't a massive buy, it did increase their holding by 286%, which is arguably a good sign.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Cactus Acquisition 1
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the insider, Graham Chee, for US$135k worth of shares, at about US$0.50 per share. That means that even when the share price was below the current price of US$11.42, an insider wanted to cash in some shares. As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. This single sale was just 16% of Graham Chee's stake. Graham Chee was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 130.00k shares worth US$65k. But insiders sold 505.00k shares worth US$200k. Graham Chee sold a total of 505.00k shares over the year at an average price of US$0.40. The chart below shows insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
