Insider Buyers At AlTi Global Likely Disappointed With 13% Slide
The recent price decline of 13% in AlTi Global, Inc.'s (NASDAQ:ALTI) stock may have disappointed insiders who bought US$2.46m worth of shares at an average price of US$4.53 in the past 12 months. Insiders buy with the expectation to see their investments rise in value over a period of time. However, recent losses have rendered their above investment worth US$1.89m which is not ideal.
While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At AlTi Global
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the President & COO, Kevin Moran, for US$550k worth of shares, at about US$4.00 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is US$3.47. So it may not tell us anything about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Does AlTi Global Boast High Insider Ownership?
Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. AlTi Global insiders own about US$129m worth of shares (which is 26% of the company). This kind of significant ownership by insiders does generally increase the chance that the company is run in the interest of all shareholders.
