NVR Insiders Sell US$5.0m Of Stock, Possibly Signalling Caution
The fact that multiple NVR, Inc. (NYSE:NVR) insiders offloaded a considerable amount of shares over the past year could have raised some eyebrows amongst investors. When evaluating insider transactions, knowing whether insiders are buying is usually more beneficial than knowing whether they are selling, as the latter can be open to many interpretations. However, if numerous insiders are selling, shareholders should investigate more.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At NVR
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the Independent Director, Thomas Eckert, for US$3.8m worth of shares, at about US$7,530 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at around the current price of US$7,314. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.
