Why Does Debt Bring Risk?
Debt is a tool to help businesses grow, but if a business is incapable of paying off its lenders, then it exists at their mercy. How Strong Is SanDi PropertiesLtd's Balance Sheet?
Zooming in on the latest balance sheet data, we can see that SanDi PropertiesLtd had liabilities of NT$296.8m due within 12 months and liabilities of NT$68.8m due beyond that. Offsetting this, it had NT$48.5m in cash and NT$392.0k in receivables that were due within 12 months. So it has liabilities totalling NT$316.7m more than its cash and near-term receivables, combined.

So while that leverage does boost returns on equity, we wouldn't really want to see it increase from here. The balance sheet is clearly the area to focus on when you are analysing debt.
