Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Charles Ickes, the Group COO & President of Supply Chain Solutions - Bergen Logistics of Elanders AB (publ) (STO:ELAN B) recently shelled out kr548k to buy stock, at kr54.79 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Elanders
The President Magnus Nilsson made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for kr765k worth of shares at a price of kr54.64 each. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at around the current price of kr55.80. Of course they may have changed their mind. But this suggests they are optimistic. While we always like to see insider buying, it's less meaningful if the purchases were made at much lower prices, as the opportunity they saw may have passed. Happily, the Elanders insiders decided to buy shares at close to current prices.
Elanders insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Insider Ownership
Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. Based on our data, Elanders insiders have about 0.6% of the stock, worth approximately kr11m. But they may have an indirect interest through a corporate structure that we haven't picked up on. I generally like to see higher levels of ownership.
